A week after the Christmas break Year 8 and 9 students from six local schools were invited onto the Loughborough University Campus to take part in collaborative activity focusing on the use of English and Maths in STEM subjects.
This event was a collaborative initiative designed to allow students learn about the application of English and Maths in real life situations, and work with university ambassadors from different institutions. With support from central school and college liaison teams, interactive activities were provided by academic staff from the three local HEI’s ; Loughborough University, University of Leicester and De Montfort University.
Approximately 100 students took part from the following schools; Crown Hills Community College, Ibstock Community College, Gartree High School, Heathfield Academy, Samworth Enterprise Academy and Winstanly Community College.
Thank you to the staff and students who took part in a short video of the day which can be viewed below.
