Masterclasses

Description

Students spend a day on campus finding out more about university, functions of societies and discovering more about a particular subject. The day is structured with different workshops throughout the day delivered by our students or student groups and other academic services. Working in small groups with a society or a group of students, the class will work though a range of hands-on activities which help students focus on both the social and academic aspects of university life. These workshops will also pay particular attention to how hobbies and skills can be built through different aspects of university life. We have previously run masterclasses for Creative writing, Management, Maths, Media and Communications and American Studies.

Learning Outcomes

  • Explain some of key aspects of the masterclass they have attended
  • Illustrate their understanding of the subject through a task
