The REACH Partnership is teaming up with local HEI’s to deliver another Year 8 Higher Education taster day, which aims to inspire and excite students about the possibilities of using key subjects in Social Science degrees! The event last year was a huge success and we would love to see you there for this years.
We are inviting schools to bring 15 students from their Year 8 cohorts to this event and are currently taking expressions of interest.
As you will be aware there has been a move towards universities working collaboratively to deliver outreach and this opportunity will allow students to see the variety of opportunities on offer locally.
A group of student ambassadors, currently studying university level courses, will be on hand to answer questions and share their experiences as positive role
models, and there will be a range of free resources to take away. The event will consist of input from De Montfort University, Loughborough University and University of Leicester, giving students a varied insight into Higher Education and the range of opportunities that exist locally.
This event will take place at University of Leicester Campus on the week commencing 16th April (DATE tbc).
In line with the funding that makes this event possible, we would appreciate your assistance in selecting students based on certain ‘Widening Participation’ criteria. These are students on your WP cohort list and we will be selecting schools based on this.
We are also happy to open this event up to any year 7 cohorts (or a mix of year 7 and 8).
