The REACH Partnership is teaming up with local HEI’s to deliver a Higher Education taster day, which aims to inspire and excite students about the possibilities of using the key subjects in STEM degrees. The event last year was a huge success and we would love to see you again this year.
We are inviting schools to bring 10 students from their Year 9 & 10 cohorts to this event and are currently taking expressions of interest in STEM.
As you will be aware there has been a move towards universities working collaboratively to deliver outreach and this opportunity will allow students to see the variety of opportunities on offer locally.
A group of student ambassadors, currently studying university level courses, will be on hand to answer questions and share their experiences as positive role models, and there will be a range of free resources to take away. The event will consist of input from De Montfort University, Loughborough University and University of Leicester, giving students a varied insight into Higher Education and the range of opportunities that exist locally.
This event will take place at De Montfort University Campus on Friday 22nd November 2019.
The closing date to book on is Monday 11th November 2019.
In line with the funding that makes this event possible, we would appreciate your assistance in selecting students based on certain ‘Widening Participation’ criteria. These are students on your WP cohort list and we will be selecting schools based on this.
