Students in Classrooms

Placing our undergraduate students into classrooms in local schools and colleges is a valuable way to raise young people’s aspirations towards Higher Education (HE). Acting as positive and inspiring role models, students taking part in Tomorrow’s Teachers or the Undergraduate Module Scheme also gain practical classroom experience, develop transferable skills and build confidence working in new situations. Students taking part are keen to share their passion for their subject, encourage young people in their learning and engage with the local community. Students receive training, an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and support throughout their placement for these important roles, with school placements sourced and managed centrally by the Widening Participation team.
