University Experience Day – Children in Care

9.30am – 2pm

Join us for an activity packed day that inspires children about university and gets them thinking about their future! Working in small groups with student Ambassadors, activities include:

  • an interactive quiz to find out interesting facts and figures about university
  • a campus tour to discover more about the surroundings and buildings
  • a Dreamcatcher activity which gets them thinking about their skills, interests
  • and achievements
  • making their own colourful mortar board hat to take home
  • a hands-on subject activity in one of the Departments
  • certificates and prizes

This event is specifically for Children in Care in Year 5 and 6 and is free to attend. Children in the relevant year groups will be identified by either the Leicester City or Leicestershire County Council Virtual School teams, who will then contact Designated Teachers in local schools to arrange for pupils to participate and to complete consent forms.

Pupils and staff will need to bring a packed lunch and schools will need to make their own travel arrangements for staff/pupils. Final programme and arrival details will be sent to participating schools prior to the event.

Any questions about the event? Please contact Lucy Croucher (Senior Widening Participation Officer) at the University of Leicester.
