Student Learning Outcomes

  • Interactive exploration of essential life skills used by university students
  • Navigate a university campus
  • Meet and work with university students

Our large scale Year 8 University Life Skills days will take place in May 2017 and welcome groups of students from around six schools on each day.The day begins with a short introduction to university life, followed by a number of practical, interactive activities designed to give students a hands on experience of the essential life skills that university students need during their time at university. Students experience a taster lecture and develop their skills in listening and note-taking. Activities around the topics of budgeting, timetabling and meeting new people all enable students to develop skills which will prove useful both in and out of school, and offers them the chance to learn more about what it’s like to be a university student. The day will also give participants an opportunity to meet and work with current university students.
