The National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) was established in June 2013 by higher education institutions and national organisations committed to the progression and support of Care Leavers in higher education. If you are involved in supporting these learners you will no doubt be interested to find out about the many exciting activities available across the country.
As part of the Southern SPoC Webinar programme, they will be hosting a webinar ‘supporting care leavers in higher education’ on 16th June 4-5pm. This webinar is targeted at schools, colleges and local authorities. The session will provide an overview of the tailored support which many higher education institutions provide to those in care to support them to succeed during their studies. The session will include examples of good practice in higher education institutions in England and guidance for advisors on how to signpost young people to these services.
