Update from the National Network for the Education of Care leavers (NNECL): National Network for Collaborative Outreach

I am pleased to let you know that the NNECL website is now live and is available at   The NNECL site is a designated website for teachers, Virtual Schools in each local authority, social workers, foster carers and young people listing all collaborative outreach activity for children in care/careleavers.  The website will:

  • Show outreach activity by geographical radius, age range and activity type (including CPD relating to progression to HE for those supporting children in care/careleavers)
  • List details of all collaborative networks and will seek to create community of HEIs sharing good practice.
  • Share resources developed by NNECL member charities and partners giving high quality information relating to HE access, admissions and student support. The website will link to vital sources of information such as The HE Handbook produced by The Who Cares? Trust (soon to be re-launched as a website called Propel).

We will be launching the site to our key target users (highlighted above) in September and will be working to collate further content for the site in the coming months.
